While most grass types are available as sod, some warm-season grasses are also planted as sprigs or plugs. We can provide sod composed of a mix of different varieties or different grass types just like seed mixes, but you'll have fewer choices than seed mixes themselves.

  By planting sod, we can create an expanse of lush green for your lawn in a very short period of time. Sod is living grass which comes in large strips designed to be unrolled over specially prepared ground. The grass will take root and grow like a normal lawn, and should be irrigated and mowed regularly.

  You may also want to consider having us install an irrigation system, before we lay your sod, to keep your new lawn watered and healthy.

  Give us at least one full day for preparation of the soil before planting your sod. Late spring and early summer is the best time to lay sod, because this time of year will promote healthy growth.

• Sod is relatively easy to install and can be planted in a matter of hours.
• Other than constant watering, sod needs very little care to establish.
• Sod can give you instant results creating a green lawn within hours.
• Sod can be planted in almost any season.
• Sod is much easier to plant on slopes and hills than seeds.
• If you are renovating a weed-ridden lawn, sod will cover up those old weed seeds (after tilling) so they will not germinate at the surface.
