Specialty lacing, pruning, and trimming (roses, trees, shrubs)

During summer months, plants and shrubs go through a major growth spurt. It is essential for the health of the plants to do pruning and trimming sessions. Semi-annual or even just annual lacing and pruning keeps deadwood out of shrubs, allows air and light into the inner parts of the plants, and provides us a closer look into the plant to determine if there are bug issues inside or on the leaves, that may need addressed.

Hibiscus is a plant that often gets white fly, especially if it is too thick and goes without being laced. Pittosporum and Hawthorns also become very woody on the inside and can suffer if not properly laced. These are just a few examples of the many plants trees and shrubs that can only really continue to be healthy and vibrant with proper lacing and thinning.

Roses need a once yearly major pruning. This usually should occur in January or February. At that time, it is also a good idea to apply a Rose treatment for further healthy bloom and petals.
